The million pound sale in Abergavenny

It’s not very often we have the privilege of selling such a remarkable property as this Grade II listed 16th century farmhouse in Llanvapley.  Lavishly restored, it caught the eye of a couple from Bristol who are relocating to the area.

“Obviously it is a little harder to sell a house of this price due to the amount of people looking locally in the price bracket, but, as we told the vendor, we only need one person, and that’s what happened – one viewing – and it sold!!” said Kate Carr from our Abergavenny branch.

We are seeing a growing trend of people from Bristol heading over the bridge in search of more reasonably priced property.  Bristol has one of the fastest growing markets, which has seen property prices soar, and this has left many looking at close and easily accessible areas to live, whilst still working in the city.

What was it about this million pound property that caught the buyers’ attention?

Maybe it was what they could get for their money, but more than that, its location has to be admired.  The property is set within the deep rolling Monmouthshire countryside with gorgeous wide-ranging views, yet only five miles from Abergavenny.  It could also be the potential that the property has, with a two-bedroom adjoining annexe and a range of outbuildings just waiting to be brought back to life.

Whatever the reason, we are just thrilled that we were able to find this heart-warming property a new owner.

It only takes one buyer to make a sale, and we work hard to ensure we attract the right buyers for your property.  If you’re interested in finding out how we would sell your home, contact your local branch of Bidmead Cook.
